Fall session of Wired 2 Hire workshops ready to kick off

Organizers with the Wired 2 Hire program continue to look for applicants, even with the workshop set to launch later this week.

The program gives students age 16-30 some of the job skills and certificates needed to get hired in the area.

Primarily, the free, six-week workshop will cover what they call the “Core 5”, including First Aid (Standard C with CPR & AED), Food Safety, Rent Smart and customer service.

“We want and need them to learn skills that will result in lifelong learning, sustainable livelihoods, good health and active citizenship. When we build capacity in our young people when they can form resolutions rather than resentments, our communities gain both resiliency and strength and we all benefit,” says program Executive Director Carol-Anne Pasemko.
