People in Peace River living with chronic kidney disease are now able to access more dialysis treatments in town. The dialysis unit at the Peace River Community Health Centre has extended its hours to offer more treatment times.
As of September 3rd, an extra dialysis shift was added on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday afternoons which is expected to provide space for four additional people. Patient Judith Hill says this change is good news.
“Not only will this help meet community healthcare needs, it will allow more patients to receive dialysis closer to their family and home. With more afternoon treatment times available, it takes into account that patients that have busy lives and it offers us more choice.”
The dialysis unit’s new hours of operation are 6:45 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Saturday.
