The Canadian Homebuilders Association of Grande Prairie is helping to bring more trades training to students around the Peace country.

The group donated 65-hundred dollars towards the purchase of a mobile carpentry classroom for the Peace Wapiti School Division.

President Nathan Davis says the trades trailer will travel to smaller communities around county.

“Communities where the school might not have this shop facility need it to offer an apprenticeship program.  And it really helps the students get a leg up on their apprenticeship and get started towards a trade, and creates very employable youth as they.come out of school.”

P-W-S-D Superintendent Sheldon Rowe says he expects the trailer will be ready to roll out for this fall.
