Salvation Army making a final push this week to reach $350,000 goal

Just five days remain before the Salvation Army puts away their red kettles away for another year, but the organization is still about $150,000 away from reaching their goal.

Major Dan Roode says the $350,000 they’re hoping to raise is the bare bones amount of money that the Salvation Army needs to stay open over the course of the year.

“The electric company, as good hearted as they are, don’t like to be paid with pasta and beans. A food bank or a soup kitchen, needs food, but it also needs food but it also needs money for the utilities, to pay for the heat and to keep it open. Those dollars are vital for the entire year to come.”

2day FM wants to help the Salvation Army reach their goal by donating all the proceeds from this Saturday’s 2Day FM Christmas Carol concert to the organization.

Tickets are $10 each or $40 per family at the door at the Grande Prairie Live Theatre on Saturday, doors open at 6:30.
