The Grande Prairie leg of the 2019 World Jet Boat Championships kicks off on Wednesday at O’Brien Park.
60 boats have been entered the event, representing Canada, New Zealand, Mexico, and the United States with some racers set to reach top speeds of 240 km/h.
On Wednesday, the race will take participants from Magoos Landing to Smoky Flats and back. On Thursday, they’ll go from the park to Wapiti Gardens and back.
Tickets to the event are free, but it’s recommended to get a spot on the shore early, as to not miss any of the action.
