Safety City Summer Tuesdays kick off with Bicycle Safety Day

Safety City Summer Tuesdays are back in Grande Prairie. The annual five-week event starts on July 9th with Bicycle Safety Day. Children and their parents are invited to bring their bikes down to Grande Prairie & Area Safe Communities and spend the afternoon learning about bike safety.

Activities will include helmet demonstrations and fittings, bicycle inspections and people will also be able to ride through safety city in order to practice the rules of the road. There will also be activities for smaller children such as colouring, sidewalk chalk, and bean bag and lawn games.

The event runs from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and admission is $2 per person at the gate. This is a drop in style event and registration is not required. Four more events will run throughout the months of July and August. They are listed below:

Emergencies Day- July 23rd
Outdoor Safety Day- July 30th
Agriculture Safety Day- August 13th
