No change in the unemployment rate for western Alberta for the month of June. Statistics Canada says the economic region that houses Grande Prairie and Peace River remains at 5.7 percent for the month, moving just 0.3 per cent since April.
Alberta’s overall unemployment dropped to 0.2 per cent to 6.6 in June. The Canadian national average meanwhile sits at just 5.5 per cent, down from 5.8 in May, and now sits at its lowest point in five months.
