GPRC Wolves men’s volleyball team hires new head coach

The Grande Prairie Regional College Wolves men’s volleyball team has hired a familiar face as its new head coach. Sam Tuivai coached the women’s volleyball team in 2016 and will now take over on the men’s side. He says he’s looking forward to continue the work of former coach Mitch Schneider.

“I am looking forward to the new challenge ahead. The volleyball community at GPRC and in Grande Prairie is highly competitive, and I’m excited to be back with a new great group of athletes. I have been lucky enough to work with former coach Mitch and he’s really done a really great job. I’m excited to carry on his work.”

Tuivai has 15 years of experience both playing and coaching volleyball. He says he’s excited to get to teach the next group of athletes what he’s learned over that time.

“I am looking forward to getting out on the court. It’s really rewarding being able to take my experience and help these future athletes reach their goals. It’s going to be a great season ahead watching these athletes perform.”
