ALERT seizes drugs, guns and body armour from a rural Peace River property

The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team along with the Peace River RCMP have seized 12 guns, body armour, and roughly $200,000 worth of drugs including fentanyl, cocaine, and meth.

ALERT Grande Prairie executed a search warrant at a rural property in Peace River on May 31st, and say they found more than a kilo of cocaine, over three litres of GHB, 223 grams of fentanyl and 234 grams of meth.

Officials say they also recovered seven handguns, three rifles, two shotguns, three sets of body armour, and a large amount of ammunition.

“ALERT’s investigation has been ongoing for six months, and the payoff is a substantial win for public safety. A seizure of this many drugs and guns will undoubtedly have a regional impact,” says Cpl. James Ries, ALERT Grande Prairie.
