McLennan RCMP officer given probation after 2018 impaired driving charge

A McLennan RCMP officer has been given probation after she was arrested for impaired driving in 2018. Police say they were called to a convenience store in High Prairie on June 1st, 2018 after a witness reported seeing someone they believed to be impaired drive into the parking lot.

The person reportedly tried to get the keys from the driver but they were unsuccessful. Officers arrived a short time later and say they recognized the suspected impaired driver as Corporal Anita Doktor. At that time, the Mountie was charged with impaired driving and suspended from her job without pay.

Earlier this month, Doktor was given two years probation, a year-long license ban and three months on an interlock program for driving over the legal limit as well as six months probation for assaulting a peace officer.

An impaired driving charge and an obstruction charge were withdrawn.
