2015 Provincial Lacrosse Championships to be held in Grande Prairie

The Swan City has been tapped to host the 2015 Provincial Lacrosse Championships.

More than 1,000 players from across Alberta are expected to take part from all age groups, and bring with them 200 coaches and officials, as well as parents, friends, and fans.

The tournament is scheduled for July 10th to 12th, 2015, but the Grande Prairie Lacrosee Association is already in the planning stages.

The next step is presenting an economic impact assessment to both the City and County so they can get the use of the facilities they need.

Vice President Ron Regnier says they’re proud to bring another provincial level sporting event to the Peace, and know it will bring a lot of interest in the sport.
