Of the $208 Mil Alberta is receiving from the Federal Government’s gas tax fund, Peace Region communities and municipalities will be receiving just under $8 Mil.
Peace River will receive $356,690, while Valleyview is getting $107,169, and the County of Grande Prairie will get $1,105,766.
Communities around the county are receiving individual funding as well, the town of Beaverlodge will see $128,527, and the town of Sexsmith is receiving $131,407.
The city of Grande Prairie’s portion of that funding is $2,990,738.
Gas tax funding is made available for communities to use on infrastructure projects at their discretion.
