Suicide Prevention Resource Centre looking for new Executive Director

The Suicide Prevention Resource Centre in Grande Prairie is in need of a new Executive Director. Current Director Gladys Blackmore has announced that she will be retiring at the end of June.

“I’m at the right age [and] it’s just time for me to move on and accomplish some more things in the time that I have left on this earth.”

Blackmore has been with the centre for the past 5 years. While there, she was in charge of all the centre’s programming and staff. Both she and her husband are retiring at the same time which she says will give them both more time to travel.

Blackmore says despite working with the subject matter of suicide she going to miss the happy atmosphere of the centre.
