UPDATE: Highway 2 is closed in both directions as RCMP investigates the crash. The victim was a 30 year old Alberta resident, driving a Pontiac Aztek.
RCMP in Dawson Creek are looking into a fatal motor vehicle accident that happened earlier this morning.
The collision happened south of Pouce Coupe just across the BC border.
Police say a tractor trailer unit collided with a car, killing the driver.
Highway 2 has been reduced to single lane alternating traffic, which, combined with weather conditions, has traffic fairly backed up this morning.
