The County of Grande Prairie is remembering one of its own. Flags were flying at half mast in honour of former Councilor Phyllis Stewart who passed away at the QEII hospital on Thursday, January 17th. She was 91-years-old.
Born in 1927, Stewart became a teacher and taught in 11 different schools in the area over a 30 year period. After retiring, she served three consecutive terms on County Council from 1983 to 1992.
A Memorial Service will be held at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie on Saturday, January 26 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Glen Leslie Cemetery at a later date.
