After months of back and forth between the city and the county, the Municipal Government Board’s public annexation hearing gets started today.
The City’s proposal is seeking to annex 6300 hectares of land from the County of Grande Prairie.
The County’s proposal, on the other hand, would see 543 hectares handed over to the city.
The hearing gets underway at the Stonebridge hotel this morning at 10 am, beginning with opening statements from both sides.

Affected landowners will also have an opportunity through out the hearing to voice their concerns.
Supporters of both the city and the county are encouraged to attend any portion of the hearing.
