There could be traffic delays in the northwestern part of Grande Prairie for the next couple of weeks. Aquatera’s work on the Clairmont forcemain project will take up the southbound lane of 116 Street between 124 Avenue and 132 Avenue.
The road south of Bear Creek Golf Course will be down to one lane, alternating traffic for roughly two weeks starting January 9th. The speed limit in the construction zone will also be down to 50 kilometres an hour.
Drivers are being asked to take a different route around the area. A detour has been set up using 124 Avenue/Township Road 715A westbound to 124 Street/Range Road 64, then east on 132 Avenue/Township Road 720. Because 116 Street is an oversize load route, anyone needing a permit is asked to contact the City’s Transportation Services Department.
