Tara Energy secures Evergreen Park centre naming rights

The main building at Evergreen Park has a new name. Tara Energy Services has bought the naming rights of the facility formerly known as the ENTREC Centre, which will now be called the Tara Centre.

The Calgary-based company has committed to at least a five-year partnership, officially starting at the beginning of 2019. Evergreen Park General Manager Dan Gorman says Tara Energy aligns well with the local organization.

“Their philosophy is how they treat both their staff and their clients; our philosophy is guests first and staff first, and it just mirrors a lot of what we believe. The more we talked, we both felt that it was just a perfect fit.”

Tara Energy COO Scott Bissell agrees. He sees the naming rights as another way for the company to be more involved in Grande Prairie.

“They’re not-for-profit and give back to the community. We’re identical; our culture’s the exact same as them and we want to help the community and we want to make this community better.”

The value of the deal has not been disclosed, but Evergreen Park has previously said the naming rights of the building are valued at $75,000. JDA Ventures recently committed to $25,000 a year over the next decade to rename the race track JDA Raceway.
