Feds mark WWII anniversary with commemorative pin

This year is the 75th anniversary of the start of the second world war.

Peace River MP Chris Warkentin said it was important to the Harper government that the anniversary be commemorated.

“We have come up with a commemorative pin that actually is reminiscent of the coins that were struck after the second world war was finished. This pin I think will bring back memories for those who are veterans of WWII”

Warkentin says it’s important for both the government and Canadians to take time to honour those who made sacrifices to protect the freedom of our country.
