A 32 year old man has been killed in a workplace incident near Fox Creek.
Occupational Health and Safety Spokesperson Lauren Welsh says the incident occurred at a drilling site just before 6 p.m. Wednesday night.
“A floorhand was struck by part of a top drive motor during drilling operations and suffered serious head trauma. He was flown by STARS to hospital and subsequently passed away.”
A stop work order is in place as RCMP and OHS investigates, and will be until they’re satisfied all safety regulations are being followed.
The man was employed by Nabors Drilling and the prime contractor was Athabasca Oil
