Fox Creek parents unaware 6 year old could assemble rifle

Charges have now been laid after parents in Fox Creek left their three children under the age of six in a vehicle with a loaded gun.

The mother has spoken with Global News, saying the family was on their way home from hunting on Saturday and stopped at a garage sale.

She says the rifle was left disassembled on the front passenger seat, but their six year old son was able to grab it and put it together before firing a shot out the driver’s side of the vehicle.

The mom says they would never had left the firearm in the vehicle if they’d known their son knew how to assemble it, adding he must have learned from watching his father.
