$143,000 raised for Special Olympics Alberta by GP truck convoy

The final numbers are in, and in the end, the World’s Largest Truck Convoy in Grande Prairie raised $143,000 for Special Olympics Alberta.

That far surpassed the highest amount previously raised in North America, and will greatly help when the Swan City hosts the games next year.

Grande Prairie also broke the record for the most truckers involved, with more than 300 making their way around the city Saturday morning.

Tim McTaggart lead the group after raising $5,000 himself, and Diamond International was named the convoy’s favourite truck.
