City shutting off outdoor water supplies to avoid freezing

The City of Grande Prairie is turning off the taps at several facilities due to the cold temperatures in the forecast. To prevent freezing damage, the water will be shut off at the Rotary Campsite and its sani dump, the sani dump station at South Bear Creek Park and the Nine of Dimanonds and Bear Paw Campsites, as well as the north sani dump station at the Tourist Information Centre.

It’s anticipated the water will be turned back on by Monday, September 17th. A cold front is expected to move through the area starting Tuesday, bringing cooler than average temperatures and snow.
