A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the Grande Prairie – Beaverlodge – Valleyview region. Environment Canada says the weather conditions could lead to severe thunderstorms with strong strong gusts, large hail, and heavy rain.
Thunderstorms are expected to continue developing this afternoon and last into this evening. Some of them thunderstorm may become severe.
The forecast for the city of Grande Prairie is calling for mainly cloudy skies Sunday night with a 60 per cent chance of rain or thunderstorms early this evening and a risk of severe thunderstorms. The region is still under a heat warning.
