Downtown traffic changes and transit detours begin Monday

The ripple effects from the next round of the Downtown Rehabilitation Project will start being felt Monday.

Transit Route 4 will be re-routed as road closures begin. This is the first of what the city says will be “several re-routes” to buses travelling through the area on 100 Avenue between 100 Street and 102 Street.

When this detour is in effect, Route 4 will not serve stop location 400 in front of Midwest on Main at 100 Avenue and 100 Street. They also note the incoming trip on Route 4 will not be affected. This particular detour is not expected to last through the entire project. Though both Route 4 and Route 2 are expected to be impacted occasionally.

All downtown construction detours this summer will be reflected on the Where’s My Ride Bus Tracker. New routes and stop closures will be available in real time.

The city says temporary lights were going to be installed along 102 Avenue at 100 Street and 102 Street over the weekend. They are expected to help with detour through the area.

Drivers are asked to use caution through the area.
