Temporary lights going in to prep for Downtown Rehab work

Phase three of the city’s Downtown Rehab project is set to really get under way. This comes after some temporary water lines were laid last week.

Starting Saturday both 100 Street and 102 Street at the intersections of 102 Avenue will be reduced to one lane. The change will affect both northbound and southbound traffic. Crews will be in the area installing temporary traffic lights. The lane closures are expected to be in place until May 14, 2018.

The temporary signals will help with future traffic detours. The city says more information on the detours will be shared in the coming weeks. There will also be traffic signal timing changes. They are expected to be in place for the duration of construction this summer. This will accommodate the change in traffic flow.

Phase three work will include 100 Avenue from 100 Street to 102 Street and is scheduled to wrap up in October. Phase one and two work wrapped up for the year in November 2017. There are still some finishing touches to do in the first phases this year.
