Flags at half-mast to mark end of Canada's military mission in Afghanistan
Today marks the final day of Canada’s 12 year military service in Afghanistan.
In honour of the maple leaf flag in Kabul, all municipalities and schools have been asked to participate in a flag lowering and raising.
Local schools, along with Grande Prairie City Hall, will lower their flags to half-mast to begin the day, returning them to full height at noon.
Local military personnel have been invited to take part in the ceremony.
