Four people escaped with minor injuries after a helicopter made a hard landing between Fox Creek and Whitecourt earlier this afternoon.

According to the Edmonton Journal, a Bell 206 helicopter was doing pine beetle survey work when its rail rotor was affected by wind.

The Transportation Safety Board says it then spun, hit trees, and rolled over.

The Valhalla Helicopters aircraft was heavily damaged.

STARS Air Ambulance was called to the scene of a potential crash, but was stood down.
