Snow plows continue to tackle heavy snowfall

It has been snowing in Grande Prairie almost non-stop since Monday evening, and the City has thanked residents for their patience as crews try to keep up removing it. Plows will be in Westpointe, Pinnacle, O’Brien, Mission Heights, and Stonebridge Thursday, which is the day before their garbage pickup.

Residents are asked to keep their vehicles off the road to make sure it’s fully cleared. A parking ban is also still in effect for all permanent snow routes.

In the County of Grande Prairie, crews are clearing main paved roads as a priority, followed by arterial and local gravel roads. Westlake Village in Clairmont has been plowed by the hamlet crews, which are now moving on to Whispering Ridge.

Once done, they’ll head to Wedgewood, followed by residential areas in Clairmont north of 100 Avenue. Residents are asked to watch for crews in their neighbourhood in order to keep their vehicle off the road, as well as to not shovel snow into the street.
