Environment Canada shows that 14.2 centimeters of snow fell Monday at the Grande Prairie Airport. The hourly breakdown of the weather shows that most of the day just cloudy conditions were reported. The snow began to lightly fall in the 6 o’clock hour then it switched to heavy snow in the 7 o’clock hour which then tapered off over the next couple of hours.

Roads around the region were left snow covered and both the Wembley and Debolt fire advised against travel in the area. Crews continue to work to clear roads in the city and around the region. Highways are still reported to be fully covered with snow and ice.

Despite the heavy blast of snow in a short time no weather watches or warning were issued for the region.
