Grande Prairie men organizing to support local charities

A new charitable movement is launching in Grande Prairie. On the heels of the success of 100 Women Who Care Cole Murphy was moved to get involved in their efforts. He says the amount of support the group is able to provide makes a huge difference to the groups they support. He is hoping the men will find a cause that will strike a chord with their group.

“I think that it will be probably more sport driven or focused. Not necessarily tailored to men but I am sure that most of the men are going to bend towards or vote for charities that would be applicable to guys.”

The GP 100 will meet four times a year. The 100 men will each donate $100 which will then all be donated to the charity they select.

Murphy says they are looking at doing a large yearly event where the groups combine their efforts, but nothing has been decided yet. In the past the 100 Women Who Care Grande Prairie have supported the Pregnant and Parenting Teen Society and the Grande Prairie Hospice and Palliative Care Society.
