Dream Home doors open to the public

The doors to the Rotary Dream Home open Friday. The home, located in Taylor Estates, will be open to the public from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. These extended holiday hours will be in effect until January 7.

A special deal has been created to mark this year’s milestone. Lottery Manager Kevin Hilgers says they have created the 25th Anniversary Party Pack of Tickets.

“It includes eight Dream Home tickets, five Cash Jackpot 50-50 and three Cash Cow Calendar tickets. We’ve sold tickets for a few days online and at the VIP evening we held and the Party Pack is already popular.”

Hilgers adds they have pulled out all the stops this year and the new home is already a hit.

“Stonebuilt Homes put together an about face home compared to last year. “Rustic, wood, cabin, homey, cozy” are a few of the words people use the describe it. It features no basement which has also been very well received.”

This is the third year in row that the Rotary Club of Grande Prairie has teamed up with the builder. Club President Dave McRae says he knows people look forward to the Dream Home every year.

“It’s a fun fundraiser. It’s a positive place to be. It’s an easy sell. It’s a terrific fundraiser for our community.”

The home located at 5700 Poplar Lane will be open to the public until ticket sales end on April 24. The draw will then take place on April 26. Other important dates like the early-bird and loyalty draw cut off dates can be found here.
