The salvation army kettle campaign is continuing to struggle. There is only a few days left for donations and they are looking to the community for help.
The Salvation Army says they are seeing more and more new families and individuals using their services. Last year more than 3,000 hampers were given out. So far this year between food/toy hampers and gift cards they have helped almost 1,500 people.
As of December 19 they had raised just under $300,000 and the goal this year is $500,000. Nationally the campaign was aiming to raise $21 million, they say they are $5 million behind their goal.
