City fire truck damaged in hit and run

A City of Grande Prairie fire truck was damaged in a hit and run last week and RCMP are looking for witnesses. The heavy rescue vehicle was being used to direct traffic around a crash when firefighters watched a picker truck hit the side bumper.

The collision happened around 8:30 a.m. on November 9th at the intersection of 97 Avenue and 108 Street. The truck continued south on 108th and police haven’t been able to find it.

The damage to the fire truck is estimated to be worth more than $2,000. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact the Grande Prairie RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
