UPDATE: Parking bans lifted

UPDATE: The City of Grande Prairie is lifting the parking bans as of Tuesday, December 12th. Robert Carroll says all priority 2 snow routes have been cleared and their windrows picked up.

A parking ban will be in effect for all permanent snow routes in the City of Grande Prairie starting Wednesday, November 15th. From 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays, vehicles will have to be moved from arterial, collector and transit routes.

Eight centimetres of snow fell over the long weekend, with more in the forecast for the next few days.

“Having vehicles removed from the road allows our crews to do a safer, faster and more complete
removal of the snow from the roads,” explains Transportation Services Manager Robert Carroll.
