Prep for election day in the Peace country

Monday October 16 is election day in Grande Prairie and around the province of Alberta. Polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The City of Grande Prairie is separated into subdivisions with one polling station each. To figure out where your station is, click here and enter your address.

Voting in the County of Grande Prairie is by electoral division. Residents can find their polling station using this map.

Residents of the MD of Greenview are also split up by wards and there are designated polling stations in each:

Ward 1: Grande Cache Eagle’s Nest Hall
Ward 2: Little Smoky Little Smoky Community Hall
Ward 3: Valleyview Valleyview Memorial Hall
Ward 4: Sunset House Sunset House Community Hall
Ward 6: Debolt Debolt Community Centre
Ward 7: Crooked Creek Ridgevalley Arena
Ward 8: Grovedale Grovedale Community Hall

Ballots will be cast in Sexsmith at the Sexsmith Civic Centre, while Beaverlodge residents will head to the Town Square. In Hythe, the election will be held at the Hythe Golden Age Centre and in Rycroft in Village Council Chambers. Wembley’s entire council was acclaimed.

Voters in all municipalities are required to have valid identification in order to vote. However, they are not limited to just government issued options. Other acceptable ID includes bank statements with their current address, income tax or property assessment, utility bill, vehicle registration and many others.
