Grande Prairie Peewee Reds hosting baseball provincials

The Grande Prairie Peewee Reds are playing host to seven other AA Tier 1 teams from across Alberta this weekend for provincials.

The winners earns a spot at westerns in Saskatchewan, and head coach Ashley MacMullin thinks her team of 11 to 13 year olds has a good chance.

“Our team looks pretty good going into the weekend; we’re sitting about the middle of the pack from the teams that are coming up. I think all the teams coming in have a pretty good shot at taking the championship, but I think if our team works hard and we play like we have all year, we have a good shot at winning.”

The minor baseball team finished fourth in their division in the regular season with a record of 14-4.
All the action takes place at Evergreen Park starting Friday morning.
