Advance voting continues around the region

Over 450 people cast their ballots at advance polls on Friday and Saturday according to Terri Williams the Legislative Services Manager/Returning Officer for the City of Grande Prairie. Polls for city residents who want to cast an early ballot will be open again October 13 and 14 at City Hall.

Advance polls will be open today in Beaverlodge, Sexsmith, and the M-D of Greenview. From 4 to 8 p.m., Beaverlodge residents can vote at the town square. People in the town who can’t physically make it to the polls can also have deputies come to their home to register their vote until the 13th by calling the town office.

In Sexsmith, the advance poll is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in council chambers. This year, residents are also being asked to vote on whether they’d like the last remaining grain elevator in town to be preserved until taxpayer funds. Advance polls are open today from 5 to 8 p.m. in the municipal district. A list of stations by ward is up on its website.
