High Prairie RCMP have arrested eight alleged drug dealers over the course of a week. A house in the town was searched by the drug unit on September 14th, and four residents were taken into custody for possession for the purpose of trafficking meth and possession of marijuana.
The next day, a vehicle was pulled over on the Kapaweno First Nation. A search turned up roughly 72 grams of cocaine, drug paraphernalia and cash, and the two people inside were arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine.
Lastly, marijuana was found during another traffic stop the morning of September 21st. 66 grams were seized, along with nine grams of magic mushrooms. The two people in the vehicle were arrested for marijuana possession.
High Prairie RCMP encourage residents to report any suspected drug activity to the detachment or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.
