Public meeting on removing time changes Friday

There’s still time to register to have your say on whether Alberta should get rid of Daylight Saving Time. A public meeting on Bill 203 is being held in Grande Prairie Friday from 10:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Sandman Hotel.

The proposed legislation would create Alberta Standard Time, which would be six hours behind coordinated universal time year round. Written input was taken earlier this year, and now public meetings are being held in four cities across the province.

Anyone wanting to make a presentation to the subcommittee can still register by calling 780-415-2878 or toll-free at 310-0000. More than two-thirds of the 13,500 Albertans who responded to a recent government survey said the province should scrap the fall time change.
