More roads reopening downtown

Southbound traffic on 100th Street downtown has gone back to two lanes of traffic. A lane was previously closed as a safety measure while construction crews worked in the area, but the city’s decided to reopen it due to high levels of vehicle traffic.

However, pedestrians still won’t be able to use the west side of the intersection of 101st Avenue and 100th Street. They can cross east to west at 100th and 105th Avenues.

Elsewhere downtown, the intersection of 102nd Street and 101st Avenue is set to temporarily reopen early next week. It will have a temporary gravel surface and will have to be closed again later on so storm lines can be installed and the road paved.

Crews are still installing paving stones between 99 Avenue and 100 Avenue on 101st Street, and it should be back open for pedestrians early next week. Benches, garbage bins and posts will be put in later.
