Alberta Culture Days go at the end of September and the sites for the event have been chosen. Grande Prairie Public Library is going to be a pop up location for events from September 29th to October 1st. The Centre for Creative Arts will also be holding celebrations.
There are 68 sites that will each receive $200,000 from the provincial government. Each event will highlight culture in the community in the form of dancing, exhibits, art displays, hands-on art, food and outdoor movie screenings.
Beaver First Nation in High Level has been chosen as one of five locations to be a feature site for events this year. People can expect to learn the history of the indigenous people of the area from as far back as the 1900’s.
In 2016, there were only 56 celebration sites.
