Local paramedics go bald for kids with cancer

Three members of Grande Prairie’s EMS team have gone bald for a good cause.

Helped by Basics Hair Care, the paramedics took part in “Shave Your Lid for a Kid”, as a fundraiser for the Alberta Kids Cancer Foundation.

Acting Supervisor Doug Christian says they were able to raise $200 for the cause within a week.

“We figure that in this industry, we see enough, and we treat enough cancer patients, that if we have the opportunity to make it go away through fundraising, through research, then we’re be okay with that.”

This is the first time EMS in the City has taken part, and Christian hopes to see more staff take part in the future.
