A special air quality statement remains in effect for our region. Environment Canada says the smoke from the Bc wildfires has traveled over the Rockies but it could be flushed out by thunderstorms.
People could experience coughing, throat irritation, headaches and shortness of breath. Children, seniors, and those with cardiovascular or lung disease like asthma are especially at risk.
