New head coach for GPRC Women’s Basketball team

Grande Prairie Regional College Wolves Women’s Basketball team has welcomed a new head coach. Mandy Botham will be taking the reigns after 14 years of experience coaching the sport.

She makes her way to Grande Prairie from Prince George, BC. Botham leaves her position as head coach with the Rebels Elite Basketball program and the College Heights Secondary School Women’s Basketball team.

Botham explains that she is excited to get to the Swan City to coach.

“I’m looking forward to bringing my passion for the game of basketball to Grande Prairie and to get involved in the community and in growing and developing local athletes.”

She has experience in both provincial and national levels. In 1994 to 1996, Botham played for the GPRC team that went undefeated in 1994 to 1995. They placed third at CCAA National Championships in Truro, Nova Scotia and they also won the ACAC title.

Botham has coached at the Canada Basketball Centre for Performance in Vancouver.
