The County is putting money into road improvements. Over the next two years, an extra $20 million on top of the money approved in the recent budget for roads will be added. This will bring the total to 54.4 million.
County Reeve Leanne Beaupre explains that they have around 3600 kilometres of paved and gravel roads to take care of. This extra money will be put to rebuild, pave or improve intersections of gravel roads.
According to the county, it costs around $1 million to pave 1.6 kilometres of gravel road.
