Alleged fentanyl dealer arrested in Grande Prairie

A Grande Prairie man has been arrested after 122 fentanyl pills were seized. After a short investigation and the search of two homes in the city, the alleged drug dealer was arrested on June 9th.

When trying to flee the scene, the 50 year old suspect dumped a bag of the pills on the grass of an apartment complex in Patterson Place. After investigators picked up all the pills, Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team and RCMP arrested Kadir Gobana.

Officers also found 8.2 grams of cocaine and $1,590 cash. Gobana is facing two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, and obstructing a police officer.

He will be in court on June 14.
