Grande Prairie residents looking to beat the heat can now use one of the city’s spray parks. Both Lions Park and Muskoseepi Park opened Monday, a few days ahead of schedule.
Muskoseepi Park Customer Service Manager Chad Cronk says many people had been asking for them not to wait until the original opening date of June 1st, so the facilities department moved up their work schedule. Last year they opened on May 24th, despite the city seeing snow a few days earlier.
“We’re really happy to get the two spray parks open earlier than scheduled to provide some relief to the warm temperatures the City is receiving,” says Cronk. “These facilities are always a favourite place for parents to bring their young ones to cool down and enjoy the outdoors.”
The spray parks are open from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. seven days a week.
