A preliminary hearing is underway for the man accused in the murder of two young women in Grande Prairie. Mark Phillips is charged with two counts of murder after the bodies of 30 year old Jody Topilko and 24 year old Amber Dawn Diebert were found in a rural area in late 2015. They were found a few kilometres apart from each other.
The hearing is scheduled to continue into late April and it will determine if there is enough evidence for trial.
Phillips is currently in prison servicing a sentence for dealing drugs and laundering the proceeds.
