Day three of Stompede kicks off at 1 this afternoon with rodeo action. Chuckwagons start at 6 tonight. Aggregate leaders through two days of racing include Chris Spreen for the All Pro circuit, Tyson Graham for the Western Chucks, and Troy Dorchester for the WPCA.

Northern Anarchy women’s football team hosts Calgary in their WWCFL home opener tomorrow. Kickoff is 11 a.m. at Legion Field. The Anarchy are 0-2 so far this season.

The division three Centaurs and the Sirens women rugby teams are in Spruce Grove Saturday.

Fort St. John hosts the other four WheatBelt Baseball league teams for a series of games tomorrow and Sunday. The Grande Prairie Brewers face Peace River Saturday at noon and Grimshaw Sunday morning at 11.

The Grande Prairie Thrashers return to Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League action tomorrow when they visit the Edmonton Blues. Start time is 4:30 p.m.

The Dinosaurs and Lions meet this Sunday in Grande Prairie Cricket Association action.

The Grande Prairie Disc Golf Association hosts the Swan City Showdown tomorrow at the Thrill Hill Course. Beginners to pros are welcome to take part.

The Nitehawk Downhill Mountain Bike Park is opening for 2014 season tomorrow. Despite the late start, almost all the trails will be open this weekend.

The Grande Prairie Roller Derby Association is having a fundraiser at the Crown and Anchor Pub Saturday night. The Bruiser’s Ball begins with cocktails at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and a silent auction.

Lastly, the Grande Prairie Kin Club is hosting the Great Strides Walk Sunday as a fundraiser to find a cure for or control Cystic Fibrosis. Registration starts at 10 a.m. at Muskoseepi Park, with the walk at 11 and a free picnic lunch and children’s entertainment to follow.
